After 15 weeks of relentless suffering from an all day nausea and vomiting I am finally feeling better. Of course I was hoping that it will ease up by 13 weeks, which is the beginning of the second trimester. I am still taking Diclegis, just in case, but next week I’ll stop.
To celebrate my return to a somewhat normal appetite I decided to bake a Vegan Peach Cake and cook a red lentil stew and basmati rice with dried fruits. The cake was outrageously good and very easy to make, definitely a regular recipe for me.
I still can’t tolerate the smell and the look of any meats. I’ve been maintaining my vegan diet and I can’t say that I feel unwell, but it’s probably unfair because I’ve been feeling so sick that it’s hard to say what is normal, what’s not. I do feel more energetic, thankfully, and have been spending more time outside of bed. I would like to continue this diet in the future. Ideally I would mainly eat vegan with animal products maybe 4 times a month. Let’s see how that works out. With Andranik I thought I would maintain my vegetarian diet, but eventually I ended up eating animal products. I stopped eating beef, and didn’t want burgers for a long time, but chicken and fish returned to my diet. Hopefully this time it’s a bit better.
So I’ve been craving avocados and yams, lemons and some greens. I really missed vegetables. Andranik’s diet is still spotty. Funny enough he lost his appetite around the same time I got very sick, and now he is starting to slowly eat vegetables. Still not great, but I’m hopeful. My mom made these Banana Oatmeal Muffins for Andranik and he gobbled them up. Good recipe.
Have to start working out. I plan on taking a prenatal class once a week, but I also intend to find a short home workout to practice daily. I’d like to be in good shape this time around.
